Do eyelash extensions damage the natural lashes....?

In short, no, eyelash extensions do not damage the natural lashes.

With the correct application and precision of an experienced and well trained lash artist your natural lash shedding cycle should not be interrupted (humans shed 2-5 natural lashes per day with our natural lashes on a constant grow-rest-shed cycle) and as long as the correct weight and lengths have been used your eyelash extensions can be worn continuously.

Building a trusting relationship between the lash artist and client is a must as it is our job to monitor the natural lash health. As with our skin, hair, and nails the health of our natural lashes can change with age, medication, stress, hormone imbalance and illness so being able to discuss the changes and advise where a change of style maybe needed, or in extreme cases a break from eyelash extensions until the natural lashes have recovered back to full health is important.
